Tom is a pre-med student who has been receiving great reviews from the families he has been tutoring. He tutors many academic subjects and is trained to tutor all parts of the SAT. His main focus is math through Pre-calculus, Chemistry, Physics, and English through 12th grade AP level. He will go to Palos Verdes, Torrance, Redondo Beach, and Manhattan Beach for in home lessons. As with the other tutors in the network he has a great personality for tutoring, bringing patience, total knowledge of his subjects, and plenty of postive feedback to each lesson.

Most recently in the 09/10 school year Tom has joined Victor from our network in teaching SAT prep courses to lower income high school students in various areas of Los Angeles.

"Hi my name is Tom. I am currently finishing a post-baccalaureate program in pre-medicine (4.0 GPA). Before I started on my path to medicine I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

I understand that there are many avenues that lead to science and math. It is my mission as a tutor to help make this material relevant and accessible to any student. Working as a substitute teacher for LAUSD I have seen that it is simply not possible to personalize the material for every student in the classroom environment. With one-on-one tutoring sessions I am able to identify specific roadblocks a student may have and also develop a way of approaching the material that is unique to his or her way of learning. It is my role as a tutor to make a seemingly impenetrable subject accessible to any student, tapping into his or her unique style of learning.

I have been tutoring elementary to college students for over 2 years. I have a strong understanding of Chemistry and Physics. I really love both of these subjects and I have been very successful at helping students to navigate some of the trickier topics."
