Our tutor for math, chemistry, and the *NEW* SAT (which began in March of 2005) is named Lila. She is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley where she got a 3.6 GPA. She formerly taught for the Princeton Review and is now with South Bay Tutors in the cities of Redondo and Manhattan Beach. She teaches students one-to-one at their home or at a convenient meeting place such as the public library. Her bio follows.

"I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Psychology in May 2005. I love teaching and helping students!

Tutoring has always been very fun for me and I've always known that it's important to connect with the students and understand where they are coming from. All students are different and it is integral to personalize the lessons for one-on-one tutoring. I want my students to succeed and feel confident taking tests!"

"I also teach for The Princeton Review. I teach Math and English to both middle and high school students. For high school students I teach test prep courses for the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) and for middle school students I teach supplemental education materials."

"I grew up in Redondo Beach and graduated from Redondo Union High School in 2001. In high school I was the founder and president of the Math Club where we provided free math tutoring during lunch. My freshman year in high school I was the Geometry Student of the Year, and I always received a solid A in math all the way through AP Calculus.

In high school I received a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam and I would tutor students in Chemistry and Biology. At Berkeley, I tutored students in both Statistics and Biology. I would generally tutor people in the Introduction to Neuroscience course as well as a course called Brain, Mind, and Behavior."
